DESCRIPTION:Join our local 7th graders on Wednesday\, May 17 as they comple
 te their Walk for Water as a part of the curriculum surrounding the Water 
 to Thrive project.  The students will each carry two ice cream pails or m
 ilk jugs from the middle school to the Upper Iowa River where they will fi
 ll their containers before returning to the middle school.  Total walk is
  3.7 miles. The walk is intended to create empathy and an understanding of
  what women in Africa face in their daily lives. Rotarians have been invit
 ed to join the students on the walk.  Please bring your own containers. 
  Attached is a map of the route and below are directions from Carrie Reed:
  We will leave the middle school around 10:25-10:30 heading west on Jeffer
 son St before turning south on River St\, circling Carrie Lee\, then headi
 ng north on Winnebago until we turn west on Water Street. We'll head north
  on River Street and walk Goose Island Drive to the dike\, go behind the h
 igh school\, across Bruening Bridge\, collect water at the river\, and hea
 d back.  We always make the return trip shorter.
