Perspectives on Reformation Theology
DRC Sponsor: Don Holmertz
In honor of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, Justin Gulleckson and Chad Bird will offer some observations gleaned from their participation in a local book club review of The Theology of the Reformers by author Timothy George. The book club in which Justin, Chad, and other Decorah Rotarians participate is ecumenical and meets Thursday mornings at T-Bock's. Their interests focus on historically significant books dealing with academic and theological subject matter, such as the works of G.K. Chesterton and C.S. Lewis. The Reformation was the 16th-century religious, political, intellectual, and cultural upheaval that challenged papal authority on the European continent and set in place the global structures and belief systems that define much of the modern world.
