Howard County Community Hospice

DRC Sponsor: Shannon Duncan

Howard County Community Hospice (HCCH) serves all of Howard and Winneshiek Counties and parts of Mitchell, Floyd, Chickasaw, and Fayette Counites. HCCH’s mission is “To enhance the quality of life for terminally ill individuals and their loved ones by providing physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual support before, during, and following the patient’s death. We strive to educate the community about hospice services and the grieving process.” Brecka and Erin will discuss planning for end of life at all ages, share how hospice can enhance quality of life at a challenging time, and dispel common myths about hospice care.

Brecka Putnam, LMSW, is the social worker/bereavement coordinator for HCCH. She attends After Hours meetings of the Decorah Rotary Club. She lives with her dog, Kinnick, who is training hard to become a hospice volunteer through the Four-Legged Friends Program. Erin Cline, LBSW, is the hospice lead/social worker for HCCH. Erin and her husband, Mike, have two children enrolled in Decorah Community Schools and own a small business in Decorah.
