Root River Farm Operations

Mike Bollinger and Katie Prochaska are the farmer/owners of River Root Farm, a small certified organic family farm and greenhouse operation within the city limits of Decorah. Mike and Katie will offer our members information and interesting insights into their operations, including the varieties of food they produce and how they are able to operate throughout the year despite the challenges imposed by the changing seasons.

The Root River Farm focus is on farm direct wholesale of fresh produce, herbs, flowers, and spring plantings. Their products may be found at grocery stores and restaurants throughout the Driftless region, and spring plant starts are available at the Oneota Community Food Cooperative and Seed Savers Exchange. They have been certified organic by Midwest Organic Services Association since 2009 and certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for food safety since 2012.
