Small towns in Iowa and across the Midwest have seen their main streets and retail stores close their doors permanently in recent years, but the Decorah area continues to have vibrant and varied shopping districts. Contributing to this downtown vitality are the efforts of the local Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce, whose mission includes keeping the local business and retail sectors strong and growing. Our club will hear from business owner Valerias Kishkunas, representatives from the Decorah Chamber, and local shop owners who will talk about special events and promotions upcoming for downtown Decorah.
