Seed Savers 50th Celebration

Decorah Rotary Club is partnering with Seed Savers to help make their 50th anniversary celebration a success. There are two separate volunteer opportunities. The first occurs prior to the event and consists of packing swag bags with items for the attendees. The other is working at the actual event. More information on each opportunity can be found below.
Swag Bags
Assist with packing 400 swag bags for event attendees. This will take place prior to the event at Seed Savers.
Mon Aug 4: 6-8PM
Tues Aug 5: 2-4PM
Event Volunteers

Parking |
Assist with parking vehicles, under the direction of SSE staff. Safety gear provided. |

Assist with registering event visitors. |

Water & First Aid Station Refills |
Check and replenish large water coolers and first aid supplies. Lifting filled water coolers required. |
Heavy |

Trash & Litter |
Checking and emptying full trash bins and picking up trash on the ground. Full trash bags will need to be carried a moderate distance for disposal. Gloves provided. |
Moderate |

Bathroom Checks |
Checking visitor center bathrooms and portapotties for cleanliness and supplies. Gloves and other materials provided. Night shifts may need to turn on lights in the portapotties. |
Light |

Tomato Washing |
Washing SSE-grown tomatoes in preparation for eating! |

Tomato Slicing & Serving |
Slicing and serving tomatoes during the Peg O' My Heart documentary. |

Campfire Host |
Start, maintain and put out campfire. All supplies provided. |

Clean-Up |
Event tear down and clean-up. |
