Mobile Mamma: Online Safety Education and Social Media Awareness for Families

DRC After Hours Sponsor: Brecka Putnam

Christy Teslow is the Founder and Executive Director of Mobile Mamma, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting online safety education and social media awareness for families. She will be visiting the Decorah Rotary After Hours group to share more information about the organization and offer insights into the many positive impacts its activities are having on our friends and neighbors.

Christy is currently enrolled at Eastern Iowa Community College, pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity along with a diploma in Web and Applications Design.
In addition to her nonprofit work, Christy is the owner of Tech Geek in Cresco, Iowa—an electronic service and repair shop where her passion for technology first intersected with a growing concern for online safety. After witnessing first hand the challenges families face with digital security and the dangers of social media, she was inspired to launch Mobile Mamma to empower parents, educators, and children with the tools and knowledge needed to stay safe online.

Christy has shared her expertise across the United States and was even honored to present internationally in Dublin, Ireland. Her commitment to protecting families and keeping children safer in the digital world has become a driving force in her daily work. Her greatest hope is that everyone she meets walks away having learned at least one thing that helps them navigate the online world more safely.
