Andy Nimrod and Brian Fuhrmann
Carlson Park Development Status and Plans

DRC Sponsor: Ward Budweg

The Director of the Decorah Parks and Recreation Department (DPR) Andy Nimrod, along with DPR Board Member Brian Fuhrmann, will be on hand to discuss the development plans and status of Carlson Park, the most recent addition to the Decorah Park System. Andy and Brian will also itemize DPR's winter recreation opportunities available to the community.

The 110 acres of wooded property supporting Carlson Park was gifted to the Decorah Park System by the families of Rick and David Carlson. Public access to the park is located adjacent to St. Benedict Cemetery on Pleasant Avenue heading south towards the Fish Hatchery. Several multi-use and cross-country ski trails are already established and in use. The designated Outer Loop Trail is nearly two miles in length.

DPR is constantly working to improve all of the parks comprising the Decorah Park System. Visit parks.decorahia.org for more information.
