Paul Gardner
Learning from the 2020 Presidential Election

DRC Sponsor: Alan Lerstrom

You have probably heard a lot of noise about America’s 2020 presidential election, from all sides. In this talk, Paul Gardner, Emeritus Professor of Political Science at Luther College, will help us get below the noise so we can reflect a bit about what the election of 2020 teaches us about America.

Dr. Gardner retired from Luther College in 2018 after 35 years teaching Political Science. Among his favorite courses were seminars on the 2008, 2012, and 2016 American presidential elections. Not quite ready to lay down his chalk, he spent Spring 2020 in Romania as a Fulbright Scholar teaching about the 2020 election. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Kentucky, an MA in Political Science from Iowa State University, and a BA in Sociology from St. Ambrose University. His course specialties included global politics, politics and religion, and terrorism and democracy.
