Our 2026-2027 Decorah Rotary Youth Exchange student Liv Anderson has arrived in Denmark, marking the beginning of her academic year of immersion in Danish culture. She will be staying in Taastrup, a western suburb of Copenhagen. Her local sponsors are Rotary District 1470 and the Taastrup Rotary Club. Liv is the daughter of Decorah Rotarian John Anderson and the granddaughter of fellow Decorah Rotarians Cal Anderson and Ron Snell.

Rotary Youth Exchange is a Rotary International student exchange program for secondary school students. Since 1929, Rotary International has sent young people around the globe to experience new cultures. Around 9,000 students are sponsored by Rotary Clubs every year. Typically, students are sent to another country for a year-long stay with a host family, attending school in the host country. Rotary Youth Exchange inspires young leaders to serve as catalysts for peace and social justice in their local communities and throughout the world, long after their exchanges end.

Our club sends its best wishes to Liv and looks forward to future updates from Denmark!
